The Spokesperson, Xmas edition

This is the last edition of Spokesperson for 2011 and the club committee wishes all our members a very happy Christmas and New Year. We look forward to your support in the coming season not only in the participation in our racing / social activities but also in the running and / or managing our events. Those members who turned out for our AGM will be aware of the changes to the structure of the clubs committee but for the benefit others the changes for 2012 are as follows.

SPOKESPERSON EDITOR / WEBMASTER - Jim Sharrock
Jim has taken on these responsibilities and will act as a coordinator in both roles, this means that he has agreed to publish out in both media copy and information that is sent in to him . So if you want to submit details of your activities or other matter for inclusion in either the club website or spokesperson then it should be written up ready for Jim to cut and paste it into the chosen publication media. Jim has asked that whilst he is happy to serve the club in these capacities that he be excused from active committee responsibilities.

CLUB SECRETARY - Neill Williamson
We welcome back Neill who in the past has proved to be a valuable and resourceful contributor to the committee and  a name no doubt many of you will recognise from club time trials result sheets.

TREASURER - Mike Amery
Mike has decided to step down from Chairman to give him more time to devote to his cycling.

TIME TRIAL SECRETARY - Bob Blinston
Bob has again accepted to take on this work together with responsibility for organising the awarding of club trophies and medals. Remember you can support Bob and the club by turning out to marshal, push off or time keep he will always appreciate help.

CLUB RUNS SECRETARY - Richard Klemperer
Richard will be organising Club Runs / Freewheel / Christmas Ride and  Reliability Rides. These promotions require helpers it is not unrealistic for Richard  to expect the membership to volunteer with the management of these events - so get involved .

ROAD RACE SECRETARY - Sean O`Toole and Mike Amery
Both seasoned committee members who have jointly promoted the club's and LVRC road track racing activities for severall years. Again their work for the club relies very much on help from the membership please play your part .

CHAIR PERSON - Derek Burnage
New to this particular role I will largely rely on my committee colleagues and the membership for their ideas to promote and develop the club. I will also continue to promote our two open ten mile times trials in March and September 2012 - again help will be needed .

Finally a message to all who have any of the the clubs challenge trophies - will you please return them to Bob Blinston asap they need to re-awarded at our awards night in February and the engraving takes a couple of weeks so your early co-operation with this is vital.

A message from Rides Secretary, Richard Klemperer
